Well, that was fun. My first CAG (California Autoharp Gathering) May 14-17 in Dunlap, CA, with Ronnie Cox and Phil Parlapiano. The highlight for me was connecting with a couple autoharp tribal members from my past. Bonnie Phipps, whom I knew from way back in the Denver in the ’70’s when I had a duo (Fingers Akimbo) with the great autoharp player singer/songwriter Michael Stanwood, and Karen Mueller, who I had the honor of playing with in the Twin Cities celtic band Piper’s Crow with Dick Hensold and Laura MacKenzie. Thanks to Marc Blake, I can share a bit of the fun with you via his great video work. Here’s Karen and me cutting it up on an old fiddle tune, Bill Cheathum.
It was a lot of fun, especially when Karen started putting the hammer down part way through. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
